About
I'm a 38-year-old freelance content strategist based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Five years ago I shifted to full-time remote work and set up in the converted second bedroom of my Craftsman bungalow: a 72-inch laminate desktop running the length of the far wall, a south-facing window that throws afternoon glare across the monitor, and a pegboard panel on the left wall for cables and peripherals.
By the end of year two, I had been through enough cheap desk chairs to develop strong opinions about them. The last one before I finally spent real money left my shoulders locked up every Friday afternoon. I did the math on physical therapy co-pays versus the upfront cost of a decent chair, bought one worth the price, and it held up. That was the beginning of the notes.
The notes expanded faster than expected. A toddler put serious pressure on sofas and area rugs that same winter, and I started tracking which pieces held shape and which went soft inside of a season. Which rugs came back from the juice box and which didn't. Which sectionals stayed put under a three-year-old reorganizing the living room at speed. ErgoDwell is where the full log lives: ergonomic chairs, standing desks and converters, modular sectionals, washable rugs.
My background isn't design or ergonomics. No certifications, no interior-design training. What I have after five years of home-office use is a specific set of impressions from a working household in Raleigh and a working knowledge of every furniture return process in the mid-price range. For anything that touches posture or back pain, that's where it ends on my side. Describing what held up or didn't in daily use is one thing; assessing anyone else's spine is well outside what I'm able to do. A physician or physical therapist is the right call for those questions.
