About

I'm a 38-year-old freelance content strategist based in Raleigh, North Carolina. I went full-time remote in 2021, and by my second year doing it I had been through enough cheap desk chairs to develop strong opinions about which ones are worth the price tag and which are just photographs.

The moment I trace it back to: a Friday afternoon in late 2022 when I pushed back from my desk because my shoulders had locked up again. I did the math. The cheap chairs were costing me more in physical therapy co-pays than a decent ergonomic chair would cost upfront. I finally bought a real one, and it held up. I started keeping notes.

The notes expanded beyond the home office fast. I have a toddler who stress-tested more sofas and area rugs in one winter than I would have expected. I track what held shape and what went soft in the first season, which rugs survived the juice box and which didn't, which sectionals stayed put under a three-year-old's rearranging. ErgoDwell is where the full log lives.

I'm not a designer. No ergonomics certification, no interior-design background, no credentials in physical therapy or back health. I can't diagnose anyone's posture problems and I'm not qualified to recommend furniture as a treatment for any physical condition. What I can do is describe four years of notes from a remote worker's household in Raleigh and tell you which pieces earned their keep.
